Auction November 2026
Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Salem
Microfinance Project

The woven fabric pieces were bought in Guatemala for this auction.  All other items were donated.  100% of the sale prices will go toward the microfinance projects by our partners. The proceeds will be sent to the NEO Fund, to be lent as small loans to poor women and families, in Nicaragua and Guatemala.

Each item has an opening-bid price and a Buy-It-Now price.  Bids will be updated on this web page, so you can know the status of bidding on each item.

To simulate the results of a live auction, each item will go to the highest bidder at one increment over the second highest bid.  So bidders should submit the highest price they would be willing to pay, with assurance that their purchase price will only be that high if there is intense competition.   For example. if Abigail bids $125.00, and Costanza bids $110.00, Abigail buys the item for $115.00, one increment over Constanza’s second-high bid of $110.00. But of course anyone could have bought the item  earlier at the Buy-It-Now price, preempting the bidding on that quilt.

Bids and Buy-It-Now orders may be emailed to George Struble at gstruble@willamette.edu starting October 20 , until 9:30 a.m. Sunday, November 15.  Further bidding can be done at the church after the November 8 and 15 services, until 12:30 p.m. November 15 when the auction closes.  The items will be displayed for sale on Sunday November 8 and Sunday November 15 following the UUCS services.
